Simple, modern cladding boards that interlock and clip together. Great for walls, soffits and facades.
Knotwood’s aluminium cladding system is innovative and unique. It has been designed for easy installation. Our special clip fixing system allows for expansion and contraction of the cladding board. This ensures the boards won’t twist or warp in all weather conditions. Each board has a 5mm adjustable spacing which allows for minimal cutting and waste. Knotwood’s cladding is based on an interlocking board system. It includes extra components to easily manoeuvre around windows, corners and joins.
The natural beauty & timeless appeal of wood with the capabilities of aluminium.
Knotwood uses a state of the art sublimation process to create woodlike aluminium thats greener, safer, stronger and easier to use than wood. From traditional warm woody hues to dark modern ashes, Knotwood has the most extensive range inspired from the natural world.
Knotwood’s cladding boards use all metal components and fixings for ultimate strength and durability.
In recent years cladding has turned from classic to contemporary using new materials with new applications. In keeping with progression, Knotwood’s cladding system has been engineered to be versatile in its uses, without losing its timeless traditional appeal. It has superior resistance to weathering than wood and boasts minimal maintenance.
A modern expression of natural wood tones, bringing together gentle neutrals and rich deep hues.
Knotwoods specialised sublimation process transfers their unique wood grain designs onto a powder coated surface. The result is a natural timber grain aesthetic in a wide range of colours, with a textured matt finish.
Fire safety is an important consideration for any building. Selecting the right materials to conform to fire regulations requires a balance between aesthetics, cost, form and function. Unlike tradtional wood which typically has a D fire perfomance rating, Knotwood has an A2 fire performance rating. This means the profiles are non-combustible and would not contribute towards a fire.
Due to possible batch variations like natural wood, Knotwood will supply all materials for an order from the same batch. We recommend you ensure that there are sufficient materials from the same batch to complete your job, as there are no guarantees that extra product of the same batch (colour and shade) can be supplied at a later date.
Knotwood’s specialty Textura coating is the ideal finish for high traffic areas. They have performed rigorous testing to create a product for performance and toughness that will withstand hard wearing environments. The fine texture finish and advanced powder coating technology create the ultimate scratch, scrub and abrasion resistance.
This overview provides you with a graphic and non-binding indication of installation practices commonly used by Knotwood customers in various applications. We advises that customers, project owner and architect, seek independent advice from a construction professional regarding the accordance to national and/or local building regulations of a chosen fixing system.

Knotwood is made from high quality marine grade Aluminium. Contrary to other metals, Aluminium reacts with the oxygen in the air to form an extremely thin layer of oxide. Though unnoticeable, this naturally occurring layer provides excellent corrosion protection and is self-repairing if damaged. This anodising process naturally improves it’s resilience to corrosion in harsh environments.
A topcoat of specially developed, exterior grade paint is baked on to provide resistance to chipping, flaking and blistering to ensure the finish retains its look for longer. Our specialised sublimation process permeates the entire thickness of the powder coating which means Knotwoods finish is the industry’s leading material in hard wearing wood like products.
One of the best known properties of aluminium is that it is light, with a density one third that of steel and a weight 50% less than wood when compared equally. The low density of aluminium accounts for it being lightweight but this does not compromise its strength. A lightweight material means low transport costs, easy installation and handling while maintaining structural integrity in all types of environments and conditions.
Knotwood is perfect for the outdoors. Aluminium is great in direct sunlight as it remains cooler than most other materials. It naturally absorbs heat slowly but releases it quickly. Whether it be a deck, handrail, or any other application, In the heat of the day Knotwood aluminium remains cool to touch.
Aluminium is impervious to insects, no need to worry about termites or ants affecting the beautiful Knotwood finish. In contrast to wood, Knotwood aluminium doesn’t require additional chemical treatments to protect them from pest attack.
Unlike most steel grades, aluminium does not become brittle at low temperatures. Instead, its strength increases. And as it doesn’t absorb water or moisture, Knotwood won’t warp and expand when exposed to extremely cold conditions.
Aluminium is perfect for wet, damp, shady environments. Unlike wood, Knotwood is non porous and will not swell, grow mould or mildew when exposed to wet conditions.
